Ever feel like you just need a reset button? Well, here it is. I discovered this recipe while traveling a time or two and was dead set on recreating it. I make up a batch and keep in the fridge. We know the benefits of apple cider vinegar and I know, I said I don’t drink it. But when it’s mixed with health boosting, blood cleansing, ingredients like lemon juice, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and ginger… I can get behind it:
Apple Cider Vinegar contains acetic acid which helps suppress appetite, boosts metabolism, balances blood sugar and has been shown to support liver function through better bile production.
Lemon juice, aside from the dose of Vitamin C which can get depleted through stress, helps regulate the alkalinity in our bodies (disease prevention!), encourages bile production in the liver, slows digestion for better blood sugar stability, and is also a diuretic (flush away the toxins in our bodies). Turmeric boasts so many health boosting benefits that include reducing inflammation caused by poor diet, or intense exercise. A component in black pepper helps us better utilize the benefits of turmeric.
Cayenne Pepper helps with digestion, detoxification by stimulating circulation, relieves joint and nerve pain, and it can also help relieve or aid in healing ulcers and stomach upset.
Ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory, potent antioxidant, calms stomach upset and relaxes the smooth muscle in our gut to relieve constipation and bloating.
When you feel the need for a detox take 1 shot of this 1-2x per week on an empty stomach. Or once a month for general maintenance.
