I’ve been looking for a good recipe for protein bars to make at home and a few recipes I did try were gummy or lacking in flavor. I came across a promising recipe and tried it out a few times with my own tweaks and it was a big success. What I love about this recipe is that it leaves you with a good base to have fun with. I sidestepped using straight chocolate and used walnuts, maca powder (hormone balancing), and cacao nibs but you could use pretty much whatever you like… chopped almonds, cashews, coconut flakes, etc. You could also omit the “chocolate drizzle” and add cacao powder to the mix.
